Do you want to have the best experience possible with Invisalign®? If so, it’s best to take great care of your aligner. If you don’t, your aligner will harbor bacteria, will no longer be invisible, and will start to smell. No one wants that, right? So, it’s important to keep your aligner in tip-top shape by doing the following things:
-After your remove your aligner, make sure to rinse it. Rinsing the aligner will help keep saliva and plaque from creating a breeding ground for foul-smelling bacteria.
-Keep your aligning tray clear and sanitized by soaking it in denture cleaner, Retainer Brite, or the official Invisalign cleaning crystals.
-Brush and floss your smile before you put the aligner back in your mouth. This is important because if you don’t keep up on oral hygiene regularly, the harmful particles can become trapped between your teeth and aligner, which can cause major problems in the future.
-Clean your aligner with clear, antibacterial soft soap. This soap is an effective and inexpensive way of keeping your aligners clear, fresh, and free from harmful bacteria.
-Brush your aligner gently. If you are vigorous with your brushing, the toothbrush will scratch your appliance and will leave visible etchings.
